Just After Memorial Day

I've read a great book that is influencing what and where I plant. The book is Carrots Love Tomatoes by Louise Riotte and is a fountain of information about companion gardening, which plants like and dislike each other and how some plants can make others stronger and repel insects. Beware, she wrote another book called Roses Love Garlic!

  1. Great book I've used for years. I've always planted rings of radishes around my squash hills and let some go to flower. I've never had problems with squash vine borers. May be a conincidence but I enjoy it anyway. Now flea beetles on my eggplant are another matter! I'm going to try homemade garlic spray with catmint this weekend.
